Sundays event was at home in McGrath Park, taking on Dundrum in a cup event,
also for the second eleven squad. After a weeks incessant rain a very soft
wicket was evident.

Dundrum were asked to bat and some poor calling and sharp fielding effected
3 run outs, 'Towns Derek Deacon, Tomas Dowling and Howard McDonnell
gathering the ball quickly and despatching towards the stumps accurately. A
mid innings stand of 60 looked threatening but this pair were dismissed by
excellent catches by Tom Butler and Julian Charles. Dundrum were eventually
all out for 112 runs.

Michael Dick was wicketless, deserving some from a tight spell of 11 overs
for 18 runs, McDonnell 4 for 23, Butler 2 for 17 and Dowling 1 for 13.

With thunder, lightning and heavy rain all around, conditions were pretty
poor all day. 'Town batted on a rapidly deteriorating wicket and had to be
patient in the run chase. Charles hit a good 41, Clive Foot 29 and Nigel
Fennell 14 to give the Carlow outfit a 6 wicket win.

Vs dundrum 2, start 1.15 pm . town won toss. 8.7.07
